Where’s the best place to see the Moray Firth Dolphins?
Chanonry Point is probably the best place to see the Moray Firth Dolphins as they regularly go there to feed. However it does get busy and although it’s a fantastic place, there’s something special about also seeing dolphins in a less crowded environment whether on your own, or as a couple or family. If you are staying for a few days it’s well worth checking out the other locations here as there are frequent sighting all around the Moray Firth. Very few people watch dolphins when they are in Inverness yet there are great viewing points there too. Are there dolphin boat trips on the Moray Firth?
There are now at quite a few boats offering wildlife or dolphin boat trips and cruises on the Moray Firth during the summer months. The dolphin population has adapted well to living so far North. They are larger than other dolphins and they also have a thicker blubber (fat) layer.

According to a recent report by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) there are approximately 195 dolphins in the Moray Firth. The report also states that the dolphin population is stable or increasing.
