Ecoventures
Ecoventures operates out of Cromarty on the Black Isle. They use a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) which can carry up to 12 passengers at one time. The boat is called Saorsa (Gaelic for Freedom) and has been designed specifically for wildlife watching

Ecoventures are situated about 24 miles from Inverness. The Black Isle isn't actually an island. It has very fertile soil and an excellent climate for growing crops including barley. There are many walks in the area and there is a major agricultural show most years.

Things to do and see in Cromarty
Cromarty is a historic coastal town in the Black Isle region of Scotland. It is known for its beautiful harbour, its narrow winding streets, and its friendly atmosphere. Cromarty is less than 30 miles from Inverness. It can be reached by car, bus but unfortunately not by train.
One of the most popular things do in Cromarty is take a boat trip with ecoventures which often leads to dolphin sightings. Other activities include walking and bike riding. Take time to visit The Cromarty Courthouse Museum which tells the story of the old courthouse in an engaging way. If you like films there is even a community cinema in Cromarty!
There are a number of eating places. Find high quality pub food at the The Fishertown Inn, coffee and cake at the Cromarty Café or something to takeaway, from the popular Cromarty Café.
Accommodation in Cromarty
The Royal Hotel, is situated near Cromarty Harbour and offers a small number of bedrooms, each with their own character. Bed and Breakfast Accommodation is very limited but there are also a number of self catering business in the area.
Many dolphin watching tourists choose to stay in Inverness where there is a wide selection of hotels, B&B and self-catering accommodation.
