Watch Dolphins at Hopeman
There are regular dolphin sightings at Hopeman in Moray. They are usually spotted travelling along the coast and there are also good vantage points. Travel down Harbour Street and turn right at the harbour. This will take you to East Beach car park. Looking directly over the beach, dolphins can occasionally be seen travelling along the coast. Hopeman dolphin sightings can be fairly close to shore.
There are actually a series of three car parks, the last one, just past the toilets, is situated behind the colourful Hopeman beach huts. From there it’s a short walk to the beach.

There are dinosaur prints nearby and an old “healing” well, which still has running water. Off to the east are coastal paths, with a lovely walk along the cliffs to Lossiemouth. To the west is a walk to Burghead. There's a chance of seeing dolphins on both routes.
Just outside the Footprints Gallery at Hopeman Harbour there’s often a notice board with the latest Moray Firth Dolphin sightings in the area.

Hopeman Map
The map pointer shows Hopeman Harbour which is now mainly a marina. The marina is very pleasant to walk around and there are beaches either side. The main fishing harbours in Moray are Buckie and Burghead.
There's a smaller beach to the west in front of the caravan park. The east beach is off the road to the right as you look at the map. Hopeman has a playpark and skatepark near the beach. The walk to Burghead is signposted near the harbour. Watch out for dolphins on the way!
Hopeman has some accommodation including quaint holiday cottages and a popular caravan and campsite. A wider choice of places to stay and hotels can be found in Elgin.
