Inverness Dolphins

Watch Dolphins in Inverness

One of the best free things to do in Inverness is watch dolphins! Inverness actually sits beside the Moray Firth and the coast is within walking distance of Inverness City Centre. It's an apporoximate 40 minute walk from Inverness Railway Station.

One good dolphin spotting area is around Merkinch Local Nature Reserve car park. Here you’ll be looking towards North Kessoch. Kessock Bridge will be on your right. Dolphins can be seen anytime but are often seen when they move upstream from Chanonry Point. Dolphin Spirit, one of the local dolphin spotting boats operates in this area.

Accommodation in Inverness

For a touch of luxury Bunchrew House is situated on the Moray Firth on the outskirts of Inverness. For accommodation in Inverness, the Royal Palace Hotel, Glenmoriston Town House and the Premier Inn (River Ness) are all riverside locations with easy access to Inverness city centre.
