Watch Dolphins in Inverness
One of the best free things to do in Inverness is watch dolphins! Inverness actually sits beside the Moray Firth and the coast is within walking distance of Inverness City Centre. It's an apporoximate 40 minute walk from Inverness Railway Station.
One good dolphin spotting area is around Merkinch Local Nature Reserve car park. Here you’ll be looking towards North Kessoch. Kessock Bridge will be on your right. Dolphins can be seen anytime but are often seen when they move upstream from Chanonry Point. Dolphin Spirit, one of the local dolphin spotting boats operates in this area.
