Moray Firth Dolphins Nairn
Although Moray Firth Dolphin sightings are not as frequent as elsewhere, the ability to drive up to a good vantage point is a bonus. In addition there's also a pier.
The Moray Firth stretches out before you for about 7 miles with the Black Isle in the distance. Given the width of the Moray Firth at this point, binoculars will increase your chances of spotting dolphins. As well as the possibility of seeing dolphins, there's lots of birdlife from Oyster Catchers to soaring Herring Gulls.
The area around Nairn Harbour is very attractive with an excellent beach close by and walks along the seashore. Visit the old fisher town area and wander up Nairn High Street to find a good selection of independent shops. Nairn was a popular holiday destination for the Victorians hence some impressive houses and Charlie Chaplin was a big fan of Nairn!
The harbour is signposted from the A96, Inverness to Elgin Road and there is usually plenty of parking space. There are places to eat near the harbour area.
