There are a number of options for flying into Inverness. From England check London Gatwick, Luton, Bristol and Birmingham. There’s also a regular flight from Belfast, Northern Ireland. The only regular direct flight from mainland Europe is from Amsterdam. However most of these airports are to some extent hubs and provide scope for connecting flights.

Inverness Airport is delightfully small and it’s a short walk to the regular Jet bus transfer to Inverness, taxi rank, or car hire.
AccommodationMost of the locations mentioned in this guide to the Moray Firth Dolphins will have one or two hotels, bed and breakfasts and self catering options nearby and may well have cheaper prices and more accommodation availability than Inverness in the summer months.

Inverness Train station is 5 minutes walk from the Bus Station and they are both central. Both have staffed ticket information centres. The Bus Station also has lots of tourist information. The main tourist information centre is 10 minutes walk on the main street. If you are travelling along the Moray Firth, consider hiring a car. The bus service is fairly rural, although with planning it’s possible to put together a reasonable itinerary.
